PROJECT TIME!

I've decided to sit down for an hour a day & just write. I want to write a book (or two), so I feel that this is what  I need to do to get myself together ... As it's coming along, maybe I'll post teasers to get some insight?

Queen For A Day Builds Confidence In Cancer Patients

Queen for a Day (QFAD) is a non-profit organization designed to raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of girls coping with cancer. QFAD events, called "tea parties," are held at local hospitals and counseling centers where girls diagnosed with cancer are invited to participate in a day of beauty. Volunteers provide refreshments, crafts, jewelry making, manicures, makeovers and lots of love. Each girl benefits from the royal treatment, where they are dressed up in a queen's robe, pink feather boa and rhinestone tiara. The tiaras have been worn and donated by real beauty queens from around the country. The girls get to keep the tiaras. Recent addition to the program is our Heroes. It brings in firefighters and police officers to participate with boys diagnosed with cancer. Their parties are given simultaneously with the girls. Tis The Season

I am in Alaska visiting family until I leave to go to Las Vegas for Miss America & then back to California. I am hoping to get an opprotunity to do a lot here in my home state while visiting ... I know this weekend I will be attending an improv group that Miss Alaska, Stephany Jeffers, has started. Stephany is a fabulous and talented young lady & I can't wait to see how she did on the reality show & how well she will do at Miss America! I am also hoping to do a photo shoot here - I recently chopped off 19 inches of hair to donate to charity (& later realized I never took photos!). I need new photos, and my friend Mitch from Propoganda Photos said he'd try to squeeze me in. But I'll also take some while running around town too - I love Alaska! It's freezing right now tho; the temp this morning was negative 8!!! I think I've acclimated to California ... this is just too cold!!!
