Donate Your Tiara's!

For Immediate Realease

May 11, 2009 - Bridgette Wilinski, Ms. California Classic Beauty, is collecting tiara's for use in the Queen for a Day program within the Los Angeles and Orange Counties. She is currently trying to organize a few dates in local hospitals that treat pediatric cancer patients. The events are held at local hospitals, homes and counseling centers where children diagnosed with cancer are invited to participate in a day of fun. One day to not be sick and just be a kid. We do this through personal visits and group parties where we offer makeovers, crafts, manicures, games, temporary tattoos and entertainers. Girls receive boas and tiaras donated by beauty queens, boys receive fireman hats, and a badge. All children receive a keepsake photo and gift.

Queen for a Day is a non-profit organization established in 2000 by Jenna Edwards of Clinton, Mississippi. The program was designed to raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of girls coping with cancer.

Tea parties are held at local cancer hospitals throughout the year where girls diagnosed with cancer are invited to participate in a day of beauty. From manicures and make-overs, to overall beauty sessions, each girl receives her very own tiara and is treated like royalty by the organization's group volunteers. Tiaras are donated by pageant participants and given to each girl to make their day complete- they could be wearing a tiara previously owned by a Miss America, Miss USA or even Miss Universe!

If you are able to donate your tiara please contact Ms. Wilinski at LosAngeles.OrangeCounty@qfad.org as soon as possible so that we can give these children a day they deserve!
